About Us

Our founder, Adrian Clarke has had a close association with the education system in W.A.  A dedicated parent of three boys he has taken a keen interest in their education through the primary and into secondary school systems.  As a board member of several school committees he became aware of just how much pressure the youth of today are subjected to in the school environment.  Finding himself living in a rapidly growing community with less than adequate infrastructure and services he is determined to do something to help redress the balance.

Leaving a highly successful career in I.T. he undertook a course in mental health with a view to counselling youth back into a healthy and productive lifestyle.  During the course of his studies he came to realise that, in all likelihood, the problems of teenage youth began much earlier in life and persists well into adulthood.

The realisation that the problem was much greater than counselling the youth in the community, he decided that something much broader in scope was needed and with the help of seed funding and the business acumen of his father he founded the NFP company Centre for Youth Health and Wellbeing Ltd which trades as 8DoW (Eight dimensions of Wellness).

The company has been established as a charity/grant funded organisation to provide free services to those who seek assistance, regardless of age, sex, colour or creed.  Currently we provide awareness and counselling services with a part-time psychologist available to assist when necessary, but our great conviction and overarching mission is to supplement “The Alien Adventure” program, which is aimed at early childhood with our own interactive program which involves 8-10 year old’s in the decision making processes necessary for successful team building. We would oversee its implementation with a view to alleviating, at an early age, those precursors which lead to youth self-harm and suicide.

All of our research and experience will be freely available, and it is our hope that, not only will you be encouraged to join our organisation, but that you will be inspired to take action yourselves and make it a worldwide movement.
